The research project embraces the topic of international mobility of slovenian population and its social and spatial consequences and different influences to the identity of those population in diverse spaces and circumstances. The life-conditions of informational society in the period of globalization and context of european integration processes stimulate the increase spatial mobility. The mobility create new residential, symbolical and functional space of slovenian population, especially those of minorities in neighbouring countries and those in emigration different countries, generations, cultural provinience and other characteristics. All this influenced strongly on socialization and identification of slovenian population. The project team will accelerate the level and intensity of spatial mobility, extension of residential, symbolic and functional space, especially those on rural peripheral areas on one and metropolitain urban areas on second hand. We will research the mode of experssion of ethnic identity, conditions of identification and structure of ethnic identity, with help of GIS. We will find out the main influences to creating and development of ethnic identity, sourcing from different areas, generations, social structure and other characteristics.
